Last week, we were delighted to partner with leading membership network Women in Banking & Finance (WIBF). As a non-profit organisation, WIBF is funded by individual membership and the sponsorship of global financial services companies, major banks and firms servicing the industry. Together with trusted partners, WIBF delivers a rich programme of events that address the needs and aspirations of their members and sponsors to develop, showcase and retain female talent and contribution – and Steps was delighted to be invited to co-host a session with Bank of America.
Coaching: The Importance of Questioning was an intensive, 60-minute virtual session using expert facilitation and introductory GROW model theory alongside experiential techniques to bring coaching conversations to life. Attended by over 70 individuals, the session created a safe and inclusive online space where conversations, questions and discussion could surface. Participants could unmute to contribute or use the chat function to engage with the topic and talk directly to the characters – an immersive technique that proved positive and gave people a chance to practice their skills in coaching and giving feedback.
We hope to continue our partnership with WIBF in Autumn 2022, with a sessions possibly focused on inclusion, given the renewed messaging from the regulator on Diversity, Inclusion and Equity within the Financial Sector.
