Steps Open Session – Anti-Harassment in the workplace

30 September 2024

Title: Anti-Harassment in the workplace

Date: Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024

Time: 10am (EST) / 3pm (UK) / 4pm (CET)

Duration: 90 minutes

Session Synopsis

What is harassing behaviour? What do I do if I find myself experiencing or witnessing them? What keeps people from reporting harassment behaviour in the workplace? Studies have shown that there are many different factors that contribute to why harassment behaviours manifest themselves in our place of work, such as toxic work cultures to leadership behaviours. It is a complex and multi-layered challenge to reduce harassment in our daily interactions, create a culture where speaking up is valued, and being active upstanders to call out bad behaviours is celebrated.

Join us for an interactive session which focuses on answering these questions, and how we can all play our part in doing the right thing when it comes to non-inclusive and harassing behaviours.

During the session we’ll explore the following aims and objectives:

  • Explore and identify the different types of harassment that can show up in the workplace
  • Learn to identify and recognize harassing behaviours
  • Consider and discuss appropriate ways to reduce harassing behaviours and support those that need allyship
