Vodafone shortlisted for Opportunity Now Award

Steps has been working in partnership with Vodafone's Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion, and Schneider Ross - a leading diversity consultancy, to promote the business imperative of diversity through a one and a half day experiential event designed for Vodafone's top 250 senior leaders across the globe.

Steps has developed an international programme, delivering in Qatar, Greece and New Zealand - and we have further sessions scheduled for teams in Ghana, Egypt and South Africa.

The initiative uses various methods to reiterate the case for change, including renowned expert speakers, interactive quiz technology and dedicated action planning. At different points in the programme, Steps associate actor-facilitators bring to life some of the non-inclusive issues and behaviours that have emerged from internal focus groups, particularly negative attitudes towards women. Delegates interact with the live performances to bring the case study scenarios (devised by Steps) to a best practice outcome. This allows them to witness the impact of their suggestions and the consequences of their actions. They also have the opportunity to discuss amongst themselves how behavioural and cultural change can be implemented within the organisation.

To give the delegates ownership of the session and the outcomes for the business, as well as for them personally, each workshop is specifically tailored to the country and delegate ‘audience'. Among the group of associates delivering the programme to date, we have actor-facilitators from the UK, America, Germany, India, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Egypt, Greece, Malta and New Zealand.

Vodafone considers gender diversity to be a key business imperative and has seen a rise globally, in the number of women holding senior leadership roles in the last year from 13% to 15%. Steps is delighted to have been chosen to assist Vodafone with this programme and play a key role in the design and delivery of their worldwide commitment to diversity.
